I came across a webpage this morning that reminded me how much I wish I'd
been able to see Jessica Tandy play Blanche DuBois in "A Streetcar Named
Desire."
http://hipp.gator.net/scartandy.html
Tandy's letter to Tennessee Williams leaves no doubt that she understood
the character very well. I've never cared for Vivien Leigh's film
interpretation; I actually THINK I prefer Ann Margret's television
performance, even though I've seen that production only once, when it was
originally broadcast. I infer from the IMDB that Tandy's performance was
never captured on film or TV. Is that right? And if so...how sad.

Whenever I see GONE WITH THE W. and STREETCAR..., am I the only one who has noticed that none of the supporting characters seem to be speaking with a Southern accent?
